Markeis Keilen McMurray was born in Oklahoma City, OK on November 20, 1987, to parents Marshall (Keith) and China McMurray. He passed away on February 12, 1999.

His family later moved to Sacramento, and Markeis went to live with his grandparents. In 1990, they moved to Rackerby, CA.

Markeis attended Bangor Elementary School from kindergarten through the second grade. He then attended Feather River Adventist School up to the sixth grade. He was active in school even though his health was slowly failing.
His hobbies included riding his bike, playing with his little cars, Nintendo, basketball, football, and riding his uncle's motor scooter.

He enjoyed helping others and would volunteer to help with the chores.

Markeis loved the Lord and he confessed that love for Him and was baptized in June of 1998. He stuidied and learned his Sabbath School Lessons and memory versus every week. He loved to pray. Some called him a "prayer warrior." He loved to sing and was in the school's choir.

Even though Markeis' health was failing, he didn't complain. The Lord touched his heart and gave him peace and joy.
Markeis has left behind his loving parents, Marshall Keith and China McMurray; his brothers, Keison, Marshall, and Markeiel; his grandparents, William and Margaret McMurray; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many friends

In Appreciation

When trouble comes to try our souls,
We love you friends, for standing by.
Your love has eased this mournful road,
and your prayers have lightened this heavy load.
But just to feel we have a friend
who stuck by us until the end,
Whose sympathy through all endured,
whose warm handshake was always yours.
You have emptied our chalice
of heartache and pain,
you have freshened our desert
with flowers and rain.
And so in our grief we frequently cry,
God Bless you, friends, for standing by.
